Abstract One of the long-term aims European Union is to incorporate intercultural education into lessons in foreign languages. However, studies have shown that teachers languages often do not know what teaching involves and are themselves interculturally competent. The aim an elective course Intercultural training a teacher study program develop students’ communicative competences (ICC) teach them various techniques activities for development ICC. An activity this intervention called Aliens , where students were creating their planets (cultures) with sociocultural historical foundations sociolinguistic pragmatic aspects newly developed cultures. Four focused on topics such as greetings, addressing, non-verbal communication, small talk, punctuality, diversity, etc. conducted before intervention. main was (awareness, knowledge, competences) positive attitudes towards difference respect other via four-step action research it evaluated very successful, able reflect own cultures, showed open-mindedness, curiosity, acceptance toward
